Little Man: 15 months old

Delbert Wade Harper
15 months old
This little joy is growing like a weed! He loves anything to do with tractors and big trucks...and his Grandpa Gary.(Because Grandpa drives a tractor) Even if I say Grandpa he gets excited...!!
As you may have seen Wade loves the theme song to the old Clint Eastwood show Rawhide. He will stop what he is doing when he hears that song and start dancing. I caught him bouncing up and down on the bottle of vegetable oil saying "duhduh duh duhduh duh duh duh duh duh" like he was riding a horse. Poor thing needs a pony to ride! I am not for certain if he is going to be a farmer like dad and drive a tractor or be a cowboy drivin' cattle like Clint Eastwood "Rowdy" on Rawhide? Either way it will be ok with me.
He also loves baths he will either bring you a washcloth when he wants a bath or grab your hand and lead you to the bathtub. When it is time for bed he goes right to sleep that is heaven for any mom. Now he is also done with the "binky" which makes me a little sad....that is like one of the last steps of him becoming a kid not a baby. :( sigh....Wade is so fun right now I love all the things he is learning and how he just knows things. How do they learn so fast?
I'll leave you with his picture of Wade kind of eating his mashed taters. He likes to smash them in his hands and rub them all over this body?!? Oh well as long as he is getting some of it in his mouth I am ok with that too!

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has sprung at the Harper Homestead! We have started our garden once again maybe I will help out more this year. The first year we did great the second I was pregnant and lazy, and the last year Wade was a little baby so I didn't do much outside. This year Wade can run around and "help" out with the garden.

Last weekend was a perfect weekend we planted onions, spinach, lettuce, and radishes. Can not wait for a fresh country salad! Wade loved when daddy was tilling the garden he loves any loud machine.

Digging in the Dirt
Wade found a mud puddle and enjoyed every moment of it!

More exciting plans for the Harper's this year you'll have to wait and see!!!

Life happens

New Year Resolution time....After 28 1/2 years of living I know myself pretty well. So I know I will never change the way I am. The only way my life will change is when LIFE HAPPENS for example getting pregnant changed my life which lead to getting married which lead to "I need to go to college to support this family I've created". I'm never going to eat right I love down home food and a lot of it. I hate exercising and would rather be lazy on the couch and I've come to the conclusion I will just have liposuction if I get too overweight. Also, I will never learn to save money I spend it as fast as I get it! ...so all of those are out of the question. I've been really pondering on what I want to accomplish in 2012.

For one thing stay in college! I just keep thinking of a better job with a fancy office and more money!(that I can spend) Since my new addiction is Pinterest I really want to learn to sew and make all kinds of crafts! I wish I still had my great grandma Clara around to teach me everything she knows!

The rest of the Year I am going to enjoy Wade's 2nd year of life. He is already becoming such a toddler carrying his cup around, getting into the cabinets, climbing on everything, wanting to go with daddy when he leaves, and the best part of toddlers...throwing fits!

But who really know what 2012 will bring...will the world end? will I loose my job? will I gain new friends? will I loose old friends? will I go crazy? I am going to go with the flow and take it one day at a time!

 Cheers to a great year!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas hasn't been too exciting for me in years. Maybe because I haven't been happy jolly like most people about it. Last Christmas was a blur because I had just had Wade. I did get engaged so that was very exciting. This year I didn't put any Christmas decor up, maybe because I felt like I didn't have any time or room for any more stuff in my house.(our house is full of toys Wade got from his bday) Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I finally got in the spirit. Just being together with family, and watching all the kids play with their new toys put some joy in my heart. Nick and I strive to do better next year put a tree up, and take Wade to go see Santa! I am going to save money and buy gifts way before Christmas day! (Hopefully) Nick and I got everything we wanted this year my mom got me a Kindle fire (I really didn't think she would get it but she came through she says it's also my Valentine, mother's day and Birthday gift haha) Nick got a black powder gun and camo bids and camo coat! We are all set for 2012!

I am very thankful we have so many friends and family members! So many people don't have any one to share this special time of year. I am grateful to be a Harper and to have a sweet little family!

Happy 1st Birthday!

December 11th 2010 my baby boy Delbert Wade Harper was born @ 1:33 am after 19 hours of labor. I never imagined how much love I would have for this life Nick and I created. Having a newborn is not easy between my pain with my c-section, no sleep, and breastfeeding it was a challenage. I am proud of myself for going through that process. Wade is such a happy healthy baby we are very blessed for that. Watching him grow this year has been such a heartwarming experience. I love all the little things he learns. Nick taught him to growl so when Wade seees a bear, lion, or his daddy he starts growling. He loves shoes he wants his shoes on all the time or he'll try to put other peoples shoes on. He uses a fork and spoon pretty good. He is a pretty amazing kid, but I'm sure every parent thinks their child is great. :)

Sunday we invited our friends and family to Wade's 1st birthday party. Wade got so many gifts he is already a spoiled little man. He has a 4wheeler, a cozy coupe, more tractors, learning toys, books, clothes, and a flask from his bartender Uncle Jeff! I told Wade he is such a lucky boy to have so many loving aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. Family and friends are such an important part of life. I have been blessd with a large family I don't know how many aunts, uncles, or cousins I have.

Here is to a new year 2012..that is hard to say! Nick will turn 30...I will be 29! Who knows what will happen? Thank you to everyone that made Wade's 1st birthday special it means a lot to us!

Stuffed

Thanksgiving 2011 was our first Thanksgiving as a family. Thanksgiving day we went to Aunt Tammy's in Nixa and spent the day eating and visiting. Wade was a wild man he was at the head of the table he enjoyed eating, drinking his juice and screaming. His is so loved on the Harper's side such a spoiled little guy. Friday we had several of our friends over at our house. Nick smoked a ham, and fried a turkey. Everyone else brought sides it was a lot of food! It was a great time love having our friends over. Saturday we were lazy we all took a long nap! Than we ran over to my grandma's for another feast. Once a gain Wade was a wild man into everything. Sunday we just stayed home in our jammies and played. He is starting to stand up from sitting he can take a few steps before falling. He looks like a little drunk man trying to walk. He gets so excited it is too precious. He also has a temper Nick and I just look at each other sometimes like "what is happening to our baby" I'm sure he will be up and running crazy in no time. We are excited for Wade's 1st birthday and Wade's 2nd Christmas in a few weeks!
 Happy Holidays!

Like Father Like Son!

Can you believe my baby boy is almost the big ONE?! 2011 as flown by...! It's crazy how much Wade has grown and learned in 12 short months! He is such a handsome little guy he has been cute since the day he arrived! I see his daddy in him more and more each day. He looks like him he has his attitude and he has his appetite! He jabbers and giggles like his daddy. He can click his tongue, drink from a straw, climb onto the couch. He only wants "real" food he loves pasta, greens beans, bananas just about everything. Like his daddy he loves sweets! Nick always thinks he needs a cake or pie after supper! "My mom always had dessert" he tells me. Well I grew up with a diabetic father so no sweets in our house ever! I can see I'll have to start making desserts for my boys!

Wade also has learned to say "NO NO" and shake his head back and forth. He does his a lot in the morning when I trying to get him awake and dressed. Much like his daddy does when I try to get him up! These next few weeks will be full of family and friends. I am very excited to take Wade to see Santa and see all the lights!

This week as been a good one for my hubs. He has been hunting for the Lawrence Co. Trophy deer since bow season started! Finally Wednesday night he got him! Wade and I were eating dinner when he flew in the door "WOOOOHOO! DADDY GOT A DEER GET THE CAMERA!!" Another one for the wall!
